Magic of Mugwort Retreat

 July 12th from 10 AM - 6:30 PM in East Montpelier, VT

Connect and commune with Mugwort, the way shower, dream opener, beloved plant of herbalists for time immemorial. 

We will practice plant spirit communication and conscious harvesting, handcraft blessing bundles and flower crowns, alchemize silk scarves with her dye, and end our day with a luxurious Mugwort guided 2 hour sound bath with gongs, flutes, bowls, crystal harp, singing and more.

RETREAT SCHEDULE

  • 10 AM - 12 PM, OPENING THE PORTAL : Opening circle, intention setting, land acknowledgment, learning a song and singing together, plant spirit communication transmission followed by conscious harvest, communing and meditating with Mugwort.

  • 12-1 PM, MYTH AND MEDICINE : Circling up to share direct felt experiences, Victoria will share a deep dive into Mugwort’s myths and medicine.

  • 1-2 PM, LUNCH: We will fresh harvest a salad together from the garden and eat in community as humans have always done. Please bring a lunch. Fruit, light snacks, and tea provided as well.

  • 2-4 PM, FROM HEART TO HANDS, SACRED ADORNMENT: Ritually handcrafting with Mugwort followed by fabric and flower alchemy~ dyeing a silk scarf with Mugwort.

  • 4-6 PM, MUGWORT SOUND BATH JOURNEY: The retreat will culminate in a special Mugwort guided sound bath journey. We begin with dosing with her flower essence, anointing ourselves with mugwort oil, while Victoria and Micha share their gifts to create an extraordinary sound and consciousness expanding journey.

  • 6-6:30, CLOSING THE PORTAL: Closing our ceremony, sharing, and grounding, and integrating the immersive journey with Mugwort.  

What is provided:

WHY MUGWORT

Mugwort is the wise crone of the plant world, long associated with the goddess Artemis and the moon. Her unmistakable bitter silver green leaves carry medicine that nourishes both body and spirit. Welcoming her presence deepens our intuitive sight, opening portals to the seen and unseen, guiding us into a more intimate relationship with the Earth and ourselves.

This retreat is an invitation to slow down and attune to Mugwort’s rhythm. To dream with her essence, and practice the kind of deep listening that invites us into those realms outside of our everyday waking consciousness.

MEET YOUR GUIDES:

Victoria Keen

Victoria is a sound healer, fabric alchemist, folk herbalist, and flower essence practitioner. She is an avid gardener and the visionary behind Horn of the Moon Apothecary in Vermont.

In her former career as a fashion designer, her passion for earth centered sustainability led her to the plant path of herbalism and plant dyeing textiles she walks today.

She makes hand crafted medicines and flower essences from her magical garden, and teaches flower and fabric alchemy as a moving meditation with the intention to inspire your innate creativity. By slowing down and connecting with the surrounding natural world, we open up to the awe and wonder around us.

Micha Merrick

Micha grew up in a family of healers and earth-based celebration. She knew the medicinal wild plants of her forest and meadow from an early age. learning to meditate in wild spaces and revere the larger circles and cycles to which we belong.

For the past seven years she's lived off-grid in Big Sur, California in a magical mountainside yurt-cabin, living with the land, tending her hillside herb garden, stoking her wood stove, attending births, and offering embodied herbal practices at Esalen. Micha uses sound vibration, vocal enchantment and the beauty of aromatic herbs and flowers to open portals of reverence and healing. She experiences life through authentic relationship with her surroundings.

Micha received direct mentorship in earth-based animism from Thai Buddhist women's healers, Bali Hindu-Tirtan Midwives, Lahu Tribe Shamanic midwives, and New England Wise-Women birthkeepers. She's dedicated to studying herbal embodyment, birth and healing practices from her own Celtic, Nordic and North American ancestral lineages. She walks a red road, learning how to respect this continent directly from  diverse original people.
